POST-EXAMS

SO I'm finally done with my end of the first semester exams and I am relieved. I fall under the categry of people who will read because exams are the next day aka last minute persons!lol.i dont have much to say as of now......i'm slowly getting out of exam mode and going back to sxool, going out and working mode.

My cousins from huko majuu were around for the last two weeks!I got to drive an absoFUCKINGlutely awesome ride and now,I work in determination to get my owm car. In that car, you get the feeling like you are on top of the world. I remember driving that car then going to drive a salon and I immediately understood why men love big cars. I kept on slowing down to check if i had a puncture, moving from on top of the world to closer to the ground was devastating to say the least :( I will work hard and see where it will get me.

Im at work......bored and sleepy!I will need time to recover from the BEST two weeks of my life and have to start saving up for a TV, Ipod Touch with a Camera and a Wii Balance BOard.....yup,that's right!I have a nintendo wii :D im grateful that i didnt have to spend any money for it.

THis weather is total appropriate for a shot of vodka, sliced lemons and soda :)

HaPPy New Year...........:D

Wow!its exactly a month since i last wrote! NOw I understand why bloggers may have large gaps of time between posts.......I've been busy! Like all lawyers do, I will list the reasons for abandoning my online family.First of all, I'm back to sxool and I hear our exams begin at the end of February so I will disappear yet again. Try to miss me :D Secondly, I was working at an NGO in Westlands which mainly dealt with injustices against women and children. Those two weeks were among the saddest of my life. Men can be EVIL plus I thank GOD for my life. I love it despite the drama and will live to enjoy it to the FULLEST! Third, I did not know what to write. A lot has happened since i last wrote and my new year resolutions(i make them up as the year goes on.......that means NO PRESSURE!LOL) are being crossed off my list. I hope you all watch the documentary on MTV called the Buried Life where four guys wrote a list of things they want to do before they die and they go around accomplishing them one by one as well as assisting one person to do one thing they would like to do before they die.

MTV has some seriously AWESOME documentaries like True Life, If You Really Knew Me and Taking the Stage. THey are really educative and open your mind to the diverse cultures we have in the world. So far, this year, I have gone paintballing, going shooting soon, saved up some money for my travel fund(feel free to donate!), managed to remain a virgin and getting to the point where I can proudly say so, I have let go of a sorta would have been a relationship/friendship of convenience, working on my sxoolwork diligently to get that second upper and make my parents proud, built my confidence up and Im getting to the point where I can say i'm genuinely happy :) The next thing on my list is to figure out what I want in my life, what direction I should take!

Lessons learnt so far:- Love/Infatuation sucks. Im stronger than what I think. I will be fine no matter what. Hard Work with God by my side, I will SUCCEED. No one can put me down unless I let them. THere are people with worse problems than mine so I should stop complaining! Being a virgin makes you think logically and with a clear mind. I will not give up my v-card to someone who isnt worthy of it :)

I know I've started the year with some heavy words thats why we should raise our shots of vodka, sliced lemons and some soda :p

Pre and Post Christmas :)

That was a long break. I haven't switched on my laptop from when we closed til today. I am those freaky people who can't work on any other lappy apart from mine :D I find that they don't have the same bookmarks and don't follow the same sites as I do so I never know what to do with another person's laptop!lol.

I can honestly say I have done a lot of NOTHING as far as the holiday has gone. I'v taken multiple naps a day, watched many movies and now I am up to date with all my fave tv shows :D Can't wait for 31st December to shake my bootay....yea,its been awhile( read: a weekend only n i mean this weekend coz it was Christmas and I thought Christmas is family time....BOY was i WRONG!i should have gone out but not to worry next year I will definitely be AWAY!)

Pre-Christmas ie 24th Dec 2010 was spent doing shopping for my small sis...she is going back to high sxool yaani BOARDING and they are opening on 2nd Jan so away with that hustle of shopping this week PLUS she wanted to buy a couple of things at Mr. Price with her salary(yup, she worked for Mr. Price- Junction for two weeks on their internship program and got paid!)

Christmas Day ie 25th Dec 2010 was spent indoors watching TV then barbequeing nyama, kebabs, boerwors and the like. IT was really fun then went to get a Dormans' Vanilla Shake............I <3 Dormans coz that shake is as close as you can get to heaven! Then I let my small sister drive home...She is 16 but she will definitely make a good driver!Pray that she doesn't end up the typical Kenyan driver (AKA ME :D) coz I learnt the hard way but thank God the 14 seater matatus are being done away with next year. They randomly stop on the road to pick passengers up. As we entered our gate, I see that my sister who is a doctor has around and she has brought a person I HATE with all my heart(her fiance)! That guy is a FRAUD and having called him out on his BULLSHIT severally, I have taken to avoiding him at all costs. I saw he was around and entered back into the car and headed over to one of my friend's house. At G(my pal)'s house, she tells me how her brother was attacked by thugs the previous night. He was driving to South C(where they live) using the route through TMALL then MEC. A car was in front of him and another behind him. He was going to overtake the one in front of him but he ended up in a ditch. They sandwiched his car in between the two. One of the thugs got out of the car in front of him with a gin in his hand and made him get out of his car. He entered one of the cars where they blindfolded him and three other women and drove off. They demanded all the money they had, all the ATM cards and i'm sure you all know the drill. They withdrew Kshs. 30,000 from one of his accounts and one of his ATMS got swallowed. He was beat up proper then made to FINGER one of the women as they watched. He said that's by far the worst thing he has ever been made to do and he kept on apologizing to the women even as he did it. All in all, the thugs got what they wanted then dropped G's bro, R back at his car then he drove home. This happened between 3 am and 6am. A watchman witnessed the incident but he claimed that he thought that it was plain clothes police arresting thugs so he didn't bother but he reported to the Head of Security Committee member of the estate he is employed at.

Yesterday ie 26th Dec 2010 was spent in Church at around 1pm(Lord, I'm sorry I was late for church but i was proofreading and formatting documents for a client :( )  I came home and SLEPT, had dinner, watched movies then went to bed rather late.

Today, I have surfed and written this entry. GOing to watch a couple of movies then sleep unless any one out there is offering to buy me a shot of vodka, sliced lemons and soda please :D

THE OFFICE CLOSES TOMORROW!YAAAAAAAAAAAY!

Finally we got our internal memo informing us of the closing of the office tomorrow at 4:00pm. The Boss rocks PLUS he is giving us Christmas bonuses! The Boss is on his way to Nakuru with a client so I foresee alot of nothing happening today at work. OUr receptionist sauntered in at 9:00am but I, being me, the person who has to be punctual for everything was at work by 7:30am.

I overslept today. It's hard trying to entertain your friends from outside the country who are currently on holiday here and still be able to function at work. We went out yesterday, got home rather late to find my little sister, who has been kicked out of her room, sleeping on my bed! I couldn't kick her out so we shared my bed. I heard my alarm(wat a surprise!lol) but I kept saying 5mins til 40 mins later when I realized that I was going to be late if I wasn't ready in the next 20 mins! Barely made it but managed to survive.

Thi is a boring post coz I'm bored at work. We are all watching the clock tick as if that will make us close earlier or make time move faster :D BUT to be honest, I'm thinking when will I be asking for a shot of vodka, sliced lemons and soda please......

Still at WOrk....BOSS,its time we go home for CHristmAS

Writing this from my shared table in a room with VERY DUSTY room full of files! It's is at the very end of the office, far from clients and anyone for that matter :D i ain't complaining bcoz we get to watch movies and we have unlimited internet so that keeps us busy through out the day :) But I'm here thinking about all my pals who have closed and enjoying their holiday while I wake up everyday to go watch movies!I'm sure u guys understand that its more comfy watching movies AT HOME and especially coz our boss keeps popping in when you least expect it :(

Yaani this weekend was too much FUN but also HARDWORK!now I know women have fought for equality and the like but when your dad calls you on Friday at 10.00pm coz his car stalled along Langata Road.....yea,you know that kaHIGHWAY with speeding cars and did you just lenga that it was a FURAHIDAY. Basically, i was going to go out but those plans were thwarted coz i had to go help my dad get his car home THEN on Saturday, he calls me at 8:00am to remind me that I have to call the mechanic to make sure his car is fixed ASAP. The funniest thing about this is that I have an older brother who is 2 years OLDER(yup!i said it....OLDER) but my dad insisted on calling me. Found a towing car and we got home at about 11pm coz being new to Langata, I had no clue on where to find a tower(read: person to tow the car!) Shout out to the fuel attendant at the Kobil Petrol Station where Rafikiz is @

Saturday, went to a wedding....or the end of that wedding! The lady next to me seemed to be angry that I was even on her table.Later I find out that supposedly there were people meant to be sitting on the seats we occupied!LOL plus my two new fwends looked hang overed and STONED (law students and their weed or in the words of my BEST fwend GOOD KUSH :p) Met up with my friends from Dar and it was 4 double shots of tekilla to whet our whistles then it only got better! Techno, Rock and Hiphop......alot of dancing. We painted the town various colours......TOO MUCH FUN!

The only thing that was abit of a downer was RAFIKIZ....that kaclub in l.a. I think they think they are the hottest thing in town coz how they treat their customers is just PATHETIC(for lack of a better word!warned y'all im bad at expressing myself coherently!lol) This conclusion was brought about by the following occurences that took place between 3:00 - 4:00am on Sunday Morning! Met up with my pals around 3:00am and since they were playing ohangla at OFfroad - Club at L.A. (across from Psys-l.a.) so we decide to go to Rafikiz. I get there, head straight for the bar to get some water(maaaaaaaad dehydration from driving and shots of tekilla ;) ) Left my pals entering so when I turn, I kuta they are nowhere in sight so I chuck and look outside then call them up. They tell me that they are inside so I finally see them and we hunt down a table. Settle down then I turn to find a bounce pouncing on one of my homies. I ask him what the problem is and he walks away. I turn to talk to my homie and he tells me that the bouncer just WALKED OFF with his national ID card so basically if he left the club and encountered police men, he would have booked himself a room in the remand cells! I go to the bouncer and ask for the ID and ask him why he took it in the first place. If he isnt supposed to be there, kick him out.....dont take his ID and demand a Kshs. 500 BRIBE! The bouncer says that he wont talk to me so I call my homie and we go together to the counter! The bouncer says since you wont give me Kshs. 500 then he DEMANDED that he gets a drink so that he can stay in the club! We say that we will leave if he gets his ID so he finally gives him the ID and my homie leaves. I go round up the rest and we leave the Club BUT I, being unable to take SHIT from nobody, walked to the Manager and told him what had just happened! He directed my complaint to the Head of Security, I assume that he was coz he came along to sort out the issue outside. The said bouncer then came outside to defend himself. My homie gave his side of the story then the head of security came to tell us that we could go back if we wanted BUT that club has an age restriction of 25years for men so that he would be doing us a favour!!!With such disappointment, we walked away and went to Westlands (PARTY CENTRAL) to each have a shot of vodka, sliced lemons and soda PLEASE :)

FURAHIDAY :)

In Kenya, weekends start when you want them to start. I know many people who can't tell the difference between the week and weekend. My weekend would like to start on Thursday(you know when you get a certain thirst and any song you hear on the radio is a jawn you would def dance to ;) i'm sure u all know what i'm talking about!!)

My friends from the coastish place wen I went to instead of opening sxool are in town. I'm one of those people who randomly do stuff and pull some daring stuff :D I was supposed to open school on 8th of a certain month(i want to remain anonymous for as long as I can) but instead I decided to take a road trip to a coastish town w/in East Africa. If you live in a hostel, its easy to do that bcoz you don't see your folks much but unfortunately, I live with my parents so explaining to them that I want to go to a COASTISH TOWN w/in East Africa for two weeks instead of going school which they have paid about Kshs. 100,000 for is clearly not an easy thing BUT my dad and I....we are tight so I asked him and convinced him(thank God I do law!lol) and he said yes and the next day, I was off to Dar at 6:30am leaving my dad to talk to my mum :p

Lesson Learnt: Always get someone else to do your dirty work :D Be tight with at least one of your folks at all times :)

Dar was AWESOME....i recommend it to any of you. Anyhoo, while there my friends dared me to go to a cop station and ask for directions to a restaurant. They didn't think I would do it but well,I walked into that buildng like I owned it and told them that we are Kenyans lost in their town and we were looking for a certain restaurant. They looked at me, DAZED........as in for real, who goes to a cop station to ask for directions....APPARENTLY, I'm the only one who does that!(if you do, please prove that I'm not crazy by sharing in the comments box!!) Then all of a sudden, they all burst into laughter, engaged me in some chit chat and we were given a PERSONAL escort to the restaurant! good times good times :) If I pulled the same stunt in Kenya, I'm sure the kenyan cops wouldn't run out of colourful words (read: FOUL LANGUANGE) to inform me of the INAPPROPRIATENESS of my query!lol

Oh yea, as I was saying.....today is Friday, my pals are in Nairobi...we are definitely going to paint the town in RAINBOW colours. My weekend officially begins with a shot of vodka, lemon and soda please :)

LIFE!

Kenya.....if you have heard anything about Kenya of late,it's all about what we have rightfully dubbed 'Ocampo 6'. If you don't know, Kenyans have a way of making up new words or taking words from a language and making them a HUGE deal. for example, promulgation......we were talking about promulgating our new constitution but yesterday a lorry slogan was 'I promulgate the way'. The poor word has now various meanings depending on the context it has been used :D another example is sambaza, this is to transfer credit from one's mobile phone to another person's phone but NOW everyone uses the word to ask for money from another person :D you have GOT to love KEnyans though....SHOUT OUT TO MY PEOPLE :p love y'all to bits :)

Oh yea,the Ocampo 6 are those who were involved planning and executing a massive killing session which is better known as Post ELection Violence! To HAGUE they must go.....its been LONG OVERDUE for them!
NB: i frequently forget what i'm talking about and end up talking about something else so if i drift off,REMIND me please or email me and I will answer all your questions.

That's Kenya. As for me, I have recently taken a break from school(dont tell my folks coz thats trouble right there!lol). I have no motivation/psyke to go to school. I'm constantly trying to think up ways to get money and move out of my folk's crib 'coz the more I stay there, the more I want to kill myself! I know that sounds rather EMO and TMI but its my blog and my outlet so let me vent. I don't think anyone will end up reading it but I feel much better writing then keeping it in me! If I write about it all now then I wont have anything to write so i'll give it to you in bits  ;)

First Post

SOooooooooo this my first post!YAY!(i know thats so cliche!lol)

This will be a lot about my life in Kenya as a law student plus a person who works part time at a law firm(which to be honest, sometimes i think they pay me to do alot of nothing BUT i ain't complaining :p).
My life is not interesting.......im actually a BORING person naturally but I'v gotten so used to reading other people'e blogs that i think I can actually write one so this is me trying to prove to myself that I can write despite my CONSTANT inability to express myself in any form :(

Sooooo everyone pour a shot of vodka, lemon and soda please with me and lets take a long walk, hopefully we wont STAGGER into the sunset :D
